I’m just posting this to see how you actually write new posts as opposed to just editing the template one.
This seems to work.

As you can probably tell from the title of the blog, I’ve set this up as part of DCU’s Digital World course- specifically, as the first lab assignment. Actually, if you’re viewing this at all, I suppose you already know that.
The problem is that I have nothing much to write about, so, naturally, I thought I’d solve the problem by going on to Wikipedia and looking for inspiration. I don’t think this will go well.
As usual, there’s a lot of content on the main page. Today’s Featured Article is apparently about one of the Star Trek films, something I know nothing about, so I’ll ignore that.
Okay, In the news: Scientists of some sort won the Nobel Prize in medicine for something about how chromosomes are protected which I guess is a good bit of knowledge to have but, again, not something I’m an expert on. In Greece, the Socialists have won the 2009 elections. Okay.
A former Japanese minister was found dead in his apartment. That seems kind of weird. I’ll click that.
Oh, he was that guy who was drunk at the G7 meeting this year. That was funny. His mysterious death puts a bit of a downer on the humour, though.
Alright, what else is in the news on the Wikipedia Main Page? The Lisbon Treaty passed, but I’m going to avoid that topic like the plague. Rio de Janeiro got chosen to host the 2016 Olympics. That seemed unusual, since I thought Chicago was the favourite to win. I wonder what’s going on there- some kind of lingering resentment from the Bush years or just a feeling that it’s time to hold the Olympics in South America for once? I don’t know.
So, I scanned the Wikipedia Main Page for inspiration, found none, but managed to write enough about having nothing to write about that I’ve got a fairly lengthy blog post. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea.
